The internet will save our souls !

I often have this discussion, with my fellow artist friends, about how amazing the internet is now for musicians ( it's the way you're reading me, by example, lol...). Indeed, these guys you find on MySpace or whatever, they now have something of a career (albums, live performances, promotion, etc...), that lazy major record compagnies denied to them. Then, the last CDs I've bought were all artists I knew from the internet...

Even if it's not Depeche Mode or Metallica career, it's something real. Ten years ago, without the internet and all these home made technologic supports (creating music and CD's at home, handle visual concepts, send promotional material, etc...), they wouldn't get anything at all ! Not to mention, the capaci- ties to work through distances with many other creators...
Seriously, too late for the major companies to cry us a river, about the evil in- ternet, since it pratically saved us from them, their bad habits, their control freak, etc... They even have to go to Myspace now, to hear about what's new and fresh... Plus, I think you could easily transpose this situation for writers, painters, etc... So, it's so true, people afraid of internet, are people who really never go there.

What we have now, for any artistic expression, as for any information flow, is a chaipasquoi. of contents, spreading all around the world, in servers, hard drives, satellites and cellphones... Everywhere, all knowledge of the world, is now shared, duplicated, copied again, to the infinite... That's the 21st century !


Du coup, on assiste avec les oeuvres artistiques, comme pour tout type d'information disponible aujourd'hui, à une dématérialisation des contenus, qui se propagent dans le monde, partout et nulle part à la fois par la technologie, dans des serveurs, sur des disques durs, les téléphones portables, les liaisons satellites, etc... Toutes les connaissances du monde, répandues à volonté, multipliées et recopiées à l'infini, c'est ça, le XXIème siècle...!
Du coup, plus aucune information humaine ne sera désormais disponible qu'à un seul endroit, ni perdue pour toujours, comme dans une catastrophe du style de la Bibliothèque d'Alexandrie... sauf, si un con coupe le courant dans le monde entier ! Malheureusement, alors que jamais autant de connaissances n'ont été aussi facilement accessibles à tous dans l'Histoire de notre planète, la plupart des gens ne savent plus grand chose sur rien (mais croient tout savoir, d'où les théories du complot, les idéologies politiques dignes d'enfants de onze ans, etc )...
